History
Guiding Lights Lodge, situated in Auburn Massachusetts, was formed by the merger of two great and very old Worcester Lodges. In 2003 the Athelstan Lodge A.F. & A.M. (chartered 1865) merged with the Montacute Lodge A.F. & A.M. (chartered 1858) to create Guiding Lights Lodge A.F. & A.M. What We Do Guiding Lights Lodge is a dynamic, active Lodge whose membership has been growing for several years as more and more men are drawn to our wonderful fraternity. In the true spirit of Freemasonry and its three important tenets of Brotherly Love, Relief and Truth, we give good men the opportunity to improve themselves and those around them as they grow through the lessons of Freemasonry. The Masonic Lodge or "Blue Lodge," as it is sometimes termed, is the core of Freemasonry and exists to bring good, upright men together in fellowship and learning. The Masonic degrees that all Freemasons take part in are rich and ancient lessons that employ symbolism taken from architecture to elucidate important and often transcendental concepts relating to the development of character. These degrees have been experienced by generations of men the world over and serve to promote personal character, honesty, integrity and charity. Freemasonry is a special organization and is cherished by its members. Although we are serious about our work in the fraternity and in the community, we have loads of fun! If you are looking to improve yourself and be with other good men while enjoying fellowship, then Freemasonry may be just the thing for you.
