SPECIAL EVENT!! 11:00 AM Competition between the men of Guiding Lights Lodge and Joel H. Prouty Lodge at throwing atlatl. Atlatl competition involves a throwing stick and lightweight spears called "darts". Competition includes throws for distance and accuracy. This is a 10,000+ year old hunting technique and is still used by aborigines in Australia. |
